GHA owns and manages 40 units of Public Housing, known as Colony Acres. Colony Acres was developed to provide affordable units for seniors 50 years-old or older, and persons with disabilities. Tenants are encouraged to plant and maintain flower gardens. The Tenant Association plans various social activities throughout the year. Living at Colony Acres is "small town" living at its best! Within walking distance to the Post Office, a bank, a grocery store and several churches, one just across the street. Friendly neighbors, home atmosphere and newly decorated apartments make it a great place to call home! Rent is based on either 30 percent of the adjusted gross income or a flat rent, whichever is lower. Flat rents are: •Small 1 bedroom $200 •Large 1 bedroom $400 •2 bedrooms $500 When experiencing vacancies, GHA is allowed to house over income individuals. Qualifications A couple or individual may qualify for GHA housing based on their income level.
