G Gibbon Housing Agency manages Colony Acres in Gibbon NE. which provides affordable units for persons 50+ as well as persons with disabilities. GHA owns and manages 40 units of Public Housing, known as Colony Acres. Colony Acres was developed to provide affordable units for seniors 50 years-old or older, and persons with disabilities. When there are no seniors on the wait list, the housing authority's wait list is then opened to other single persons. Of the 40 units, 14 units are in a secured building, 12 units of which open into a common hallway. Twenty-six units are divided into small buildings with 4-7 joining apartments. Two units are mobility free. This is independent living. The tenants are responsible for their unit and personal needs. GHA does maintenance, lawn care and snow removal.
